For the month of August 2024 several of us are going to take on a 30-Day County Coach4aday Challenge. The simple concept is to share a fact about a county in the US. My focus is going to be on North Carolina, and today I am selecting CAMDEN County.

Camden County is North Carolina 4th least populous county with less than 10,000 residents. It also has one of the more unique geographic shapes of any of North Carolina’s 100 counties. It touches the Virginia State Line on its northern edge and runs to the Albemarle Sound.

Here are some quirks about Camden County.

It has a distinctive unified government, with no chartered municipalities. The three communities—Camden, South Mills, and Shiloh—are geographically dispersed from the Virginia border down to the Albemarle Sound.
