This post may not intrigue anybody else except those that like analytics and the game of BASKETBALL.
As part of my 30 Day Challenge to watch Ted Talks last week I stumbled on a video titled “The Math behind BASKETBALL Wildest Moves” by Rajiv Maheswaran
Rajiv background includes being an Assistant Professor at USC (CA) in the Computer Science Department. Today he is CEO of Second Spectrum
Rajiv and his research team have taught computers to see the game of basketball with the eye of a coach. They have tracked every movement in the game and analyzed the results.
The data as Rajiv says in his TED Talk can help you determine “if a good shooter is taking a bad shot or if a bad shooter is taking good shots”.
If you are in to exploring the future of the game of BASKETBALL give this TED Talk a view.
