Today for the 30-Day Podcast Coach4aday Challenge my theme is TRAVEL

Excitement and anticipation are running high in our household because of an upcoming trip. Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks are the destinations we plan to TRAVEL to this summer.

Heading somewhere you have never visited before can be daunting without great advice. Decided to see if there were podcasts dedicated to visiting these two National Parks.

Day 12 Podcast-Amateur Travel

Chris Christensen has been writing about his trips since 2005. He created a podcast called “Amateur Traveler“. There have been 400 episodes that people have downloaded over 7 million times. One of those episodes was exactly what I was looking for and was titled “Travel to Yellowstone and Grand Teton”. It is Episode 183 on his site. The guest on this episode was Erik Smith. He also appeared on “Episode 121” where he discussed his goal to visit all of the US National Parks.

Podcast Takeaways

Erik really produced some quality tips about visiting both of these parks. One suggestion he was really strong on was a float trip down the Snake River. There are two vendors who do these in Jackson Hole, National Park Float Trips and Solitude Float Trips

When near the geysers in Yellowstone get prepared for the smell of Sulphur. Highly recommended while visiting “Old Faithful” in Upper Geyser Basin to also take in a self-guided tour of the “Old Faithful Inn“. Another tip was to hike up to Observation Point to view the geyser and minimize some of the crowds.

If staying inside Yellowstone, consider making reservations early. Here is a link to some of the dining options.
