#Tools July 1

In July 2025, many of us are taking part in the 30-Day “Tool” Coach4aday Challenge. Each day, the challenge encourages participants to share a tool that can help people with productivity, organization, and communication. Tools are essential in many occupations and hobbies. Today my choice is going to be a STAPLER.

There are many types of staplers, but my focus is going to be on the one most commonly used in an office or school setting. The stapler my post will address is the device that joins paper together with a metal staple. Most people will recognize the device below.

Tool-30 Day Challenge Guidelines
As with previous challenges, participants are encouraged to adapt the guidelines to fit their own circumstances. If you can, commit to sharing something about a tool in July.
- Record something about a particular tool. It can be physical or digital. It may also be something that has been replaced with advanced technology.
- Share with a challenge partner if you have one.
- Join the conversation by posting on social media with the hashtag #Coach4adayChallenge
July 1-Stapler
Had no idea that the stapler was first created as a novelty for King Louis XV in France. In America the credit goes to George McGill who in 1878 invented Single Stroke Staple Press.
The research on this post also exposed my lack of cultural hipness by never hearing of the movie “Office Space” where a Red Swingline Stapler become an iconic symbol of frustration.
