For December 2022 I am going to be participating in the 30-Day SKETCH Coach4aday Challenge.

Full disclosure I anticipate this challenge is going to expose some of my inadequacies when it comes to drawing or SKETCHING. That is part of what a challenge is intended to do -force you to try to learn something new or take on something that is not easy or comfortable.

As a basketball coach I often heard that I could not draw legible X and O’s. So, sketching something each day will be an attempt for me to make progress not produce something that will be museum or art collector worthy.

Don’t let peer pressure, societal expectations, or difficulties make you forget that progress is growth. Growth comes from change.

30-Day Sketch Challenge

Located the idea at TinkerLab. The Challenge was proposed as an Art Challenge. It is listed as December Art Challenge.

The basic premise is to engage in a daily sketchbook practice using a prompt each day.

You’ll start each day with a new prompt and it’s up to you to interpret it however you like. For example, if the prompt is “stormy”you could draw a picture of a storm, use colors that remind you of a storm, or make expressive marks that feel like they were created in a storm. The possibilities are endless.

Here are the prompts for each day.

Rules for December 2022 Sketch Challenge

Each day take the daily prompt and spend time (5-10 Minutes) sketching out what the prompt signifies to you.

If you are inclined feel free to share that sketch with others-If you do share it on social media, consider using the hashtag #Coach4adayChallenge

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
