Thich Nhat Hanh passed away peacefully on January 22, 2022. While alive he shared with the world a great quote about our SIGNATURE.

He was a spiritual leader, poet, and peace activist and author. He penned over 100 titles written in English. You can locate that list by going to this link.

Thich Nhat Hanh and Oprah

Oprah Winfree got to interview Thich Nhat Hanh and I located that transcript on her website Oprah.com

Her interview was more of a conversation, and it revealed so many leadership gems. She posed a question to Thich that went like this.

Oprah: Being married was not the life for you. And speaking of life, what about death? What happens when we die, do you believe?

Nhat Hanh: The question can be answered when you can answer this: What happens in the present moment? In the present moment, you are producing thought, speech, and action. And they continue in the world. Every thought you produce, anything you say, any action you do, it bears your SIGNATURE.

Signature Impacts

Attending grade school one practice I endured was attempting to write in cursive using the Palmer Method. For whatever reason it never took hold and today when taking written notes, I print the words. Leave you with two personal examples of writing a three-word sentence.

Living a fulfilling life boils down to mastering your “Life SIGNATURE”. God has blessed each one of us with SIGNATURE talents. Those gifts are manifested in every thought, every word, and every action we take. When I am coaching others, I challenge them to describe what they do effortlessly. What things do others find difficult that you have mastered. The answer to those questions often reveals what your SIGNATURE is.

Final thought about a SIGNATURE is this. Some of us discover it early in our lives and others later. The key is don’t stop searching it is never too late. Once you know what it is start giving your autograph away to whoever needs it or asks.
