Just where is the most REMOTE place in the State of Wyoming? For the 30-Day State Trivia Coach4aday Challenge I wanted to find out.

A lot of Wyoming is vast nothingness and is far from any roads or towns. There is place in the Northwest corner of Wyoming called the Thorofare Region that claims the distinction for the state. This area is located next to Yellowstone National Park and there is no cell service.

I located a website for experienced hikers that is called Peakbagger. One of the many cool things on this site is a list of the most REMOTE places in the US. Sorry Jaclyn Donovan but Wyoming beats out Idaho for the most REMOTE place in the lower 48. Alaska takes the crown for all 50 States.

Here is the “Most Remote Spots in US Wilderness“. When you get to the page you can click on any Wilderness Complex. That will provide a map of the complex boundaries, the inscribed circle of pure wilderness, and the most remote spot.

Thorofare

Here is where the most REMOTE place in the US is located. 18.76 miles is the distance from any road.
