This February 2025, several of us are participating in the 30-Day Philosophy Coach4aday Challenge. Each day, we choose a quote or concept from a philosopher, past or present, and share it with others. Participating in this activity is actually sharing wisdom with others. My philosopher choice today is named PLINY the ELDER.

Today my philosopher choice of Pliny the Elder also is connected to one of my favorite beers. He is best known for his work from the first century called Pliny’s Natural History.
My friends know that I love to sample new beers and track them on UnTappd To date I have tried close to 1400 different beers since 2014. One of my favorites is called Pliny the Elder and pays homage to man who was many things including naval commander, author, naturalist, and loyal friend. That loyalty led to his untimely death attempting to rescue friends after the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius He died by inhaling toxic fumes.
