Poem of the Day

Here is a Poem with the title ME. It is by Walter de la Mare

Leadership plusses of ME

Elevating leadership with WE not ME

I encourage you to self-reflect if you lead any team how often you use the word ME. It may be extremely important if you have just gotten a new leadership opportunity complete with a title, name on the door or organizational website. The new venture includes being part of planning and organizing goals and initiatives that most likely will be achieved. In addition, your advice may be sought out by others. All of this can cause us to become full of ourselves if we are not careful.

It is very rare that any significant achievement is accomplished exclusively by just one person. There are always other people involved.

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
