In June 2025, many of us are taking part in the 30-Day “On This Date” Coach4aday Challenge. Each day, the challenge encourages participants to engage in a meaningful or enjoyable activity inspired by a historical event, anniversary, or personal memory tied to that specific date. My post today is on the LAST CONCERT performed by Elvis Presley.

On June 26, 1977, Elvis Presley performed his last concert in Market Square Arena in Indianaoplis IN. He would die on August 16, 1977. That date was the first day of me beginning a long career at UNC Pembroke and I remember how many people were crying on campus.
Over the years I have heard people say they saw Elvis in concert when he appeared in Fayetteville NC August 3-4-5, 1976 with each show being a sellout. He also had a concert scheduled for Fayetteville in late August 1977 that never took place.
Here is a video link to the Cumberland County Arena that is been approved for renovations earlier this month.
