#Lane August 23

On January 1, 2019 I began a daily habit of reading one chapter of the Bible each morning. My goal is to read it from cover to cover. I started with the New Testament and then moved to the Old Testament. I am hoping by the end of December after 2 years I will have read it all.

Last week in I Chronicles 17:1-6 something struck me about God reminding us to stay in our LANE.

In that passage David was clearly the leader of the people of Israel. He thought that he would take on an additional project to build a temple for the Ark of Covenant.

God spoke to David thru the prophet Nathan on his idea and told him “Don’t Build The Temple” that is not your role. I want you to focus on leading the people of Israel.

We all get tempted and often succumb to getting out of our LANE. This is a hard lesson to embrace especially as we become more successful.

We need to stay focused on our unique purpose and that means staying in our LANE.
