For March 2024 several of us will be participating in the “30-Day Shout-Out Coach4aday Challenge”. Today the recipient is KATIE HALL THORNDYKE.

Katie Hall Thorndyke and I share something in common. We both proudly claim Forrest Kenney as our grandson. Today that little man turns 10 months old. Greer Thorndyke is Katie’s daughter who is engaged to our son Mack Kenney and the mom to Forrest.

Becoming a grandparent is truly a precious gift.

Rules of the Challenge

Organizing and participating in the 30-Day Shout Coach4aday Challenge is very simple. Below are the steps.

Here is how to participate.

  1. Identify who gets the daily Shout-Out and make sure they know you are recognizing them.
  2. Describe why you giving them a Shout-Out-what are they doing that is notable?
  3. Do this daily for 30 Days posting on social media with the hashtag #Coach4adayChallenge

If you need ideas on how to give someone a daily shout-out here is a link on LinkedIn with some ideas that are good for the workplace.

If you have an association with Lumberton High School you probably know about what type of servant leader Katie Thorndyke is. Just last year she was voted the “Teacher of the Year”.

Apart from her role as a teacher, she also served as the coach for the Pirate Swim Team.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
