#Ideas December 15

In December 2025, many of us will take part in the 30-Day Rewind Coach4aday Challenge. Each day, we’ll rewind, review, reflect or—in my case—re-blog one of my nearly 4,000 posts that highlight experiences shaping us into better versions of ourselves. If you don’t have a blog, your reflections can come from a journal or even a meaningful memory tied to something learned, a goal reached, or a personal effort to improve. These daily habits of looking back will serve as a powerful springboard for taking on a new and ambitious challenge in 2026. Today my rewind is on the power of IDEAS.

As the year comes to a close, I evaluate and often rewrite my personal constitution or mission statement. That review includes my idea list. Early in my study of leadership, I was introduced to the concept that ideas are gifts from God. On January 15, 2019, my blog post. covers this.

Ideas are one way God touches you, speaks to you, and reveals a step you need to take in order to grow. The catch is that this godly insight must be acted upon for it to become a true gift.

Rewind-30 Day Challenge Guidelines

As with previous challenges, participants are encouraged to adapt the guidelines to fit their own circumstances. If you can, commit to sharing a rewind, review, or reflection during the month of December.

  1. Rewind, review, or reflect on a past effort to improve, a lesson you learned, or a goal you accomplished.
  2. Share with a challenge partner if you have one.
  3. Join the conversation by posting on social media with the hashtag #Coach4adayChallenge

December 15th-Ideas

End of year reflection for me includes the habit of looking at my idea list and determining which ones I am going to actively take on. At the end of 2024 when I reviewed the number of things I had memorialized one that stood out was authoring and publishing a Family History Book. That will become a reality this month.

Here are some thoughts on ideas from Mike Vardy that I got from reading an article he wrote.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
