In September 2025, many of us will be taking part in the 30-Day Monuments Coach4aday Challenge. Each day we will spotlight one of the nearly 50,000 National Monuments or Memorials across the United States. In addition, we’ll feature a wide range of other tributes—from statues honoring heroes and athletes to memorials recognizing outstanding citizens and many other categories. Today the post is on the 19th President of the United States RUTHERFORD B HAYES.

Rutherford B Hayes served as US President from 1877-1891. He was born in Delaware Ohio and that is where you can find a statue of him. He is notable for a number of things including having served as a General in the Civil War, was Governor of Ohio, and his family after his death established the first Presidential Library opened to the public.

The Bronze Statue of Rutherford B Hayes can be found in Delaware OH at intersection of West William Street (U.S. 36) and South Sandusky St. It was erected in 2019 and sculpted by Zanesville Oh resident Alan Cottrill.
