In November 2025, many of us will be taking part in the 30-Day Human Condition Coach4aday Challenge. “Human conditions” can refer to the wide range of physical, mental, emotional, and social experiences that define our lives. Each day we will spotlight or describe those experiences. I am going to use this challenge to dive into a book called “The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows” written by John Koenig. It provides the readers words for feelings or human conditions we might be hard to describe. My condition for today is ELSEWISE.

When I learned the definition of the “Human Condition” Elsewise my thoughts turned to the many Real Estate Professionals I know. They enter countless homes during the span of their professional work do they experience it or does the frequency of seeing other people’s dwellings numb that condition.
Human Condition-30 Day Challenge Guidelines
As with previous challenges, participants are encouraged to adapt the guidelines to fit their own circumstances. If you can, commit to sharing something about a Human Condition during the month of November.
- Record or Describe a Human Condition. Try, if possible, to provide an example
- Share with a challenge partner if you have one.
- Join the conversation by posting on social media with the hashtag #Coach4adayChallenge
If you need help in clarifying Human Conditions here are some examples

November 12th-Elsewise
In Koenig’s poetic sense, “Elsewise” is a neologism — a newly coined word — that he created to capture a specific emotional experience. It evokes the image of walking past or glimpsing into homes and imagining alternate versions of your own life.
