There is no doubt that all of us have experienced some type of DETOUR in 2020. Whether it has been change to travel plans, taking on new workplace environments, children learning at home, how we shop, how we interact with others, it all has changed.

2020 has been difficult because it seems every decision comes with roadblocks. To move forward we have to navigate with constantly changing maps. The problem with the pandemic are the signs we normally rely on have been confusing.

I offer up these four signs as evidence. A sign without clarity doesn’t help us much.

Yes but which way
I have to guess

DETOURS are not what we choose when we begin a journey. The DETOUR does provide experiences we would not have encountered if we stayed on the road we had planned.

I will tell you I am convinced that when you do encounter a DETOUR you have to drive utilizing a lot more faith. The question is who do you put that faith in. For me that is God. His signs are not confusing even when we encounter DETOURS.
