#DEAL August 1

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Today begins the 32nd consecutive month taking on a new Coach4aday 30-Day Challenge. For August 2022 the theme will be attempting to apply some of the concepts in Tim Ferris book the 4-Hour Work Week. The focus will be on his 4-step approach given the acronym called DEAL.

If you do a Google search you can find reviews of the book.

Tim Ferris when he wrote 4 Hour Work Week was attempting to show readers how to redesign their work lives. He framed his steps with the acronym D.E.A.L.

This acronym stands for: Define, Eliminate, Automate, and Liberate. This challenge is about adding efficiency to different parts of your life specifically work-related activities.

Deal Challenge Rules

First understand what Define, Eliminate, Automate, and Liberate mean for this challenge.

DEFINE– Is it possible to work fewer hours or minutes and earn more.

ELIMINATE-Decide to eliminate unnecessary tasks and distractions, in order to free up time to focus on what is important to you.

AUTOMATE-Is it possible to delegate tasks to someone else or use some type of platform to remove the tasks that don’t provide you joy.

LIBERATE-The pandemic has taught many people of the value of work not being connected to a place or specific time. It also has validated that if you deliver indispensable skills that table has been turned where the employer needs you more than you as the employee need them. The key is your skills are so valuable you can dictate remote work and flexible hours as long as you deliver results. That freedom allows you do engage in what really excites you.

For this 30-Day Challenge find one or more components of D.E.A.L. you will work on over the next 30 Days. View it as a 30 Day Project. The goal is at the end of thirty days you will add efficiency to your life. This in turn will permit you to utilize time on your priorities.

My DEAL Project

For me it is going to find a way to ELIMINATE physically posting daily. Going to explore how to automate that process on the Coach4aday blog. My motivation is an upcoming 2-week vacation where I will be detached from Wi-Fi. I want to utilize technology and automation to have those posts still appear without me having to do it each day. Would love to be able to do a batch of post at one time.

As usually Jeff Neelon and Jaclyn Donovan are onboard for this challenge. We would love to have you join us. Find something you can work on for 30-Days to enhance your work life.
