#Compliment July 1

Today begins another 30 Day Challenge. For the month of July I am going to share a COMPLIMENT each day with another person. It might be a family member, a friend, a total stranger, colleague, or neighbor.

I am excited that Bonnie Biggs, Tina Bullard, and Jeff Neelon have already committed to join me on the COMPLIMENT Challenge. I also have commitments from two others but they asked me not to disclose their names. Consider joining us.

The scary part of this challenge is giving a COMPLIMENT comes with risks especially to offering them up to a stranger.  You see a COMPLIMENT is a gift we give to others. Our gift might be ignored, rejected, or ridiculed. I think the risk is low but it is there. That is what gives this challenge an edge.

The flip side and big motivator for providing  genuine COMPLIMENTS to others are the rewards it offers. You might reinforce a noble behavior. You might enhance someone’s self-esteem. You might provide joy to a person who needs that. You just might be changing someone’s life.

There will be a couple of nuances to this challenge. First the COMPLIMENT has to be genuine. Second the COMPLIMENT has to be delivered face to face, via the phone, or by a hand written note. A text, Facebook post, Tweet, or email does not qualify as a countable COMPLIMENT for this challenge. Third attempt to avoid a COMPLIMENT about physical appearance or characteristics. The focus should be on someone’s actions, behavior, effort, or character. If at all possible the goal is 30 Days -30 Different People.

Here is an article by Charlotte Hilton Anderson on 52 Little COMPLIMENTS Ideas.

If you have read this far in the post you have already given me a COMPLIMENT so Thank YOU!.

I am also pretty confident if you have read this far you are curious about stretching yourself. You also like reading about steps that lead to self-improvement. Congrats on being in elite group that is always looking to get better. Status quo doesn’t work for you.

I hope you will consider joining this as 30 Day Challenge. Just leave a comment saying you are in. Better yet share the post and challenge others.

It is going to be rewarding providing someone else a daily gift. The world can use a few COMPLIMENTS this month.
