For the month of August, I am participating in the 30-Day Phone Apps Coach4adayChallenge. Today the focus is on basic navigation application called COMPASS

The goal each day is to explore a different application each month that I could use or experiment with on my iPhone or desktop.

August 12th-Navigation with a Compass

In today’s world basic wayfinding skill are not as prevalent as they were generations ago. An iPhone Compass App utilizes the device’s built-in sensors to provide real-time orientation information, helping users determine the direction they are facing relative to the Earth’s magnetic north.

Features

Features

• See the latitude and longitude of your current location.

• Check your elevation above sea level on iPhone 6 (or later) models. I often use this on commercial airplane flights to determine our elevation.

• Tap the screen to lock in the current heading, then watch for a red band to see if you’re on course.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
