Today’s #Coach4aday post is on some of the firsts with a CADILLAC.

There are many songs with the automobile named Cadillac in the title or lyrics.

Maybe you have heard of Maybellene by Chuck Perry. One of my favorites is “Tennessee Plates” by John Hiatt that features the lyrics:

Joe Bonamassa does a great rendition of “Bring My Cadillac Back” by Baxter Knight. The list of Cadillac songs is pretty long but so are some of the first for that vehicle.

Notable Facts about the Cadillac

One of the first cars to feature a key-starting system was the 1912 Cadillac, which used an electric starter motor powered by a battery to turn the engine over.

In 1967, Cadillac introduced the Eldorado, which was the first car to feature an automatic climate control system.

Cadillac was the first American car company to win the prestigious Dewar Trophy for innovation and quality in 1908.

During World War II, Cadillac produced tanks, aircraft engines, and other military vehicles for the United States government.

The iconic Cadillac tailfin design was introduced in the late 1940s and became a hallmark of the brand throughout the 1950s and 1960s. There is a book about it called Cadillac: The Tailfin Years
