Past decades have seen a decline in co-workers tagging each other with nicknames. Sometimes those nicknames involved a body part like BONE.

Not going to debate that the demise of workplace nicknames might stem from a “Politically Correct” culture. What I will say is that eliminating offensive or insensitive nicknames is a fantastic trend. Yet I still chuckle when I come upon the scene in “The Maid” from the Seinfeld TV Show. In that episode George Constanza wants to bolster his self-esteem by having a nickname at work and he wants T-BONE.

Workplace BONES

If you a lead a team, any type of team you need to be on the watch out for people who have BONE nickname.

Often times the people in any organization just might fall into one of four categories. It is the last one that we want to make sure we are surrounded by.
