Came across the word BLEISURE while reading last week.

The word apparently came into existence to define the activity of combining business and personal travel.

Based on new research from the Experience Institute, a whopping 71% of people consider the destination in the determination of whether they will attend a business conference.

America seems to have a problem with vacations.

Here is article by Victor Lipman on that issue.

When I was working I was guilty of not utilizing all the annual days I was granted. I was fortunate that unused vacation rolled over to sick days that equated to retirement service. When I retired my unused vacation days combined with unused sick leave (over 20 years) equated to almost 1.5 years service.

We get paid time off, and then we don’t use it all. When we do use it we are on a BLEISURE trip.
