May 2026 the 30-Day Coach4aday Challenge will feature travel pictures. It is a simple daily activity of posting a photo of a place that you have traveled to or a location you plan to visit. Today it is the view leaving a resort via the DRIVEWAY.

This month marks the 77th consecutive month that friends Jeff Neelon and Jaclyn Donovan have taken on some sort of challenge. For May 2026 participants simply commit to taking or sharing one travel-themed photo each day for 30 days. Each photo just needs to be accompanied by a simple descriptor. Hope you decide to join the 30-Day Travel Pics Coach4aday Challenge.
Day 18-Driveway
The first five years of our marriage found my wife and me living in Western North Carolina. Each morning, leaving our small hillside home meant driving down a short but steep driveway that opened to beautiful views of the Great Smoky Mountains. I tried to locate photos of that daily scene without success, but I did capture a similar moment during a 2012 visit to Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris, Georgia, while heading down their mountain driveway.
What prompted today’s post was losing sight of what routine sometimes steals from us. When you drive the same mountain roads every day, even breathtaking overlooks and layers of blue ridges can quietly become part of the background. It often takes time awayto remind us that what feels ordinary to us would be extraordinary to someone seeing it for the first time.
Here is my 2012 photo of the Brasstown Valley Resort Driveway
