For the month of July 2024 several of us are going to take on a 30-Day Nickname Coach4aday Challenge. The simple concept is to share a nickname and tell a little about who it is associated with and why they got tagged with that moniker. Today I’m going with the one of the most famous opera singers of all-time LA DIVINA.
Sometimes talent and fame will only last for a while before some ailment of physical calamity robs the person of their gift. That was the case with Maria Callas who was dubbed La Divina.
Maria Callas, the renowned soprano, experienced a noticeable decline in her vocal abilities during the late 1950s while she was still in her 30’s, The reason was attributed to various factors including weight loss, vocal strain, and health issues. Despite efforts to recover, her once powerful and celebrated voice never fully returned to its former glory, leading to a decline in her operatic performances.
