In May 2025, many of us have decided to participate in the 30-Day Golf Coach4aday Challenge. Each day the goal is to share something about a particular golf course, golf equipment, or to actually get on the course and play a few holes. Golf is the only sport where you can be furious, humbled, and ecstatic—all in the span of one hole, and still call it “relaxing.” It’s a game where you are cajoling and chasing a tiny ball into a gopher hole. For many it becomes a lifelong obsession and an excuse to buy outrageous pants and the latest driver.
Today my golf observation is on a man who in 2019 completed a golf challenge that involved the number 50.

This challenge will not be for everybody but there are plenty that enjoy the game despite not being anywhere close to playing at a high level. That includes me.
Golf 30-Day Challenge Guidelines
As with previous challenges, participants are encouraged to adapt the guidelines to fit their own circumstances. If you can, commit to getting out on the golf course—but if that’s not in the cards, share a story about a favorite course or a piece of gear you love (or love to hate).
- Record something about your day on the course or talk about a golf course or piece of equipment.
- Share with a challenge partner if you have one.
- Join the conversation by posting on social media with the hashtag #Coach4adayChallenge
Day 20-50
This post highlights a unique golf challenge centered around the number 50. In 2019, Peter Crozier launched a fundraiser called “Fifty for Father,“ where he set out to play 50 golf courses in 50 days across 50 different U.S. states. Kicking off on May 27 and wrapping up on July 15, the ambitious journey required extensive planning and coordination. His adventured started in Southport NC and finished in Worchester MA.
Research let me discover that playing 50 days of golf in 50 states was not just a one-man adventure. I located similar challenges completed by Dion Reid and Clay Phillips
I’m proud of the 30-Day Challenges I have completed since 2020 but this golf challenge of 50 courses in 50 days is something beyond anything I have attempted. Playing golf in 50 states is an ambitious and physically demanding challenge that requires meticulous planning and travel coordination. It’s a unique way to experience the diverse landscapes and golf cultures of the entire United States in a single, whirlwind journey.
