August 2026 several of us are going to take on the 30-Day Plugged in Coach4aday Challenge. Each day, we will feature an item from home or office that requires being plugged into a source of electricity to operate. We will reflect on how it makes life easier. For Day 5 it is the TOASTER.

People have been toasting bread for centuries. It may have begun with placing a slice on a stick and holding it over an open flame. When electricity came along all sorts of inventions began to occur including the toaster.

Day 5 -Toaster

What does appear to be factual is that The first stand-alone electric toaster, the Eclipse, was made in 1893 by Crompton & Company of Chelmsford, Essex.
