#Thanks February 23

Today I am stumped on the best way to say THANKS.

Yesterday was my birthday and I was overwhelmed by the calls, text messages, cards, Facebook comments, and mentions. I sit here early the morning after contemplating on how to best convey to each person how much I appreciate what they did.

It is not the most effective way to say THANKS but I am using today’s post to do just that and to tell everyone how there gift reminded me of something important.

I actually try to play down the significance of my own birthday. I do not think I am alone. Yesterday’s outpouring reinforced that it is important to feel cared about, appreciated, and even celebrated. That last sentence was difficult for me because it sounds so self-centered but it is true. As a coach I realize that people who care about you or even love you need an opportunity to express it, and you need to hear and feel it. There is a gift in giving to others.

To my family, friends, colleagues, and clients THANKS for the gift of caring.

My life is fantastic because of faith, family, and friends. Yesterday all the birthday wishes gave me so much to be THANKFUL for.
