October 2026 several of us are going to take on the 30-Day Celebrity Alma Mater Coach4aday Challenge. Each day we will identify a celebrity and share where they attended college. For Day 7 it is on STEVE JOBS.

One of the aspects of this month’s challenge is to look backwards at most celebrities’ careers especially as it pertains to college. Walter Isaacson wrote Steve Jobs, the authorized biography published in 2011, based on extensive interviews with Jobs and more than 100 people who knew or worked with him. Chapter 3 of that book was called “The Dropout”
Steve Jobs attended Reed College in 1972 but dropped out after only one semester. He continued auditing classes, including a calligraphy course that had no obvious practical application at the time. That is the reason for today’s font choice with his name.
Years later, those lessons influenced the typography and design of the Macintosh, helping make the computer’s fonts and layout unusually elegant. Jobs famously said that you can’t connect the dots looking forward—you can only connect them looking backward. Today’s I utilized a calligraphy font (Palace Script) to honor Jobs.
