Today begins a new 30 Day #Coach4adayChallenge. For July the challenge is about HISTORY.

The challenge for July is really simple. Think about some fact about HISTORY that you find interesting and want to share with the group. It would be fantastic if you shared that place with others using the hashtag #Coach4adayChallenge but it is not mandatory. What is important is to create a daily habit of spending time thinking of some important part of HISTORY. It doesn’t have to be mainstream it just needs to be an event connected with someone or someplace.

Having each of us share some historical event might broaden all of our horizons. So I am going to start out with something I learned during a recent trip to Memphis Tennessee. The city has a strong connection to music. Memphis is known worldwide as the “Home of the Blues & Birthplace of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

One historical fact is that Memphis is mentioned in more songs than any other city in the world – more than 400 according to Billboard Magazine.

I will leave you with one more HISTORY tidbit about Memphis. MGM movies especially those shot before WW II always started with a lion roaring. That lion’s name was Volney and he died in 1944 at the Memphis Zoo.

What historical facts do you want to roar about? If you want to join us just type “I’m In” in the comments. There is plenty of room for HISTORY sharing with the #Coach4adayChallenge.
