Friends of mine often tell me the best band of all time is EARTH WIND & FIRE. Some have called them the Black Beatles.

Their album That’s The Way of The World is ranked #420 on Rolling Stone Magazine list of 500 greatest albums. For readers of a certain age we had albums that were put on the turntable for a possible make-out session. Barry White and Earth Wind and Fire were two musical selections for that particular activity.

That’s The Way of The World.

This was the 6th Album for Earth Wind and Fire. It included the hit single “Shining Star”, “Reasons” and of course the title track That’s The Way of The World.

Earth Wind and Fire had a pair of brothers Maurice and Verdine White. who played bass. Maurice White died in 2016 at the age of 74. The band’s other signature vocal came from Phillip Bailey with his distinctive falsetto register.

They wrote a number of songs on this album including That’s The Way of the World. That song was actually the theme song of a 1975 movie I am pretty sure you did not see. It was called “That’s The Way of The World” and it starred Harvey Kietel.

Discography

This album took under 40 minutes to listen to. I will surely be finding another EW&F album soon-probably the “I Am” album. That’s the way of my world.
