Some truths I believe in. First each of us has been created in unique way and that results in DIFFERENCES

Second the only way to grow as a Christian is to surrender our lives to God. That means accepting everyone not just those that are like us.

Those two truths result in a number of daily challenges. I am quite confident that I am not alone. Differences in relationships can cause great frustration. That can occur in the workplace, at church, with family, friends, and political views. Become Christlike involves leaning into those differences even when painful. We have to give up the concept that our way, our idea, our culture is the only right way.

There is no magic formula that makes accepting others easy. It all revolves around the commitment to treat others like we want to be treated. Simply put follow the “Golden Rule“.

Brene Brown is quite an expert on the concept of leaning in and becoming “Vulnerable“. When we become vulnerable, we are risking our ego because of the fear of being judged. Dealing with the ways that make each of us unique can be painful when we are too proud or fearful to make that first step to understand someone else. Accepting DIFFERENCES requires embracing vulnerability. Jesus modeled what that looked like.
