#BlogoftheMonth April 3

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

It has been my practice to use the 3rd of each month to feature what I call the “Blog of the Month”. I profile a blog or twitter feed I follow and encourage you to explore it also.

The Blog of the Month for April is written by a former college and NBA basketball coach. When I became a Head Basketball Coach for the first time in the 1980’s I was fortunate to meet a lot of talented coaches. One of those coaches was Kevin Eastman.

I got to know Kevin thru Joe Gallagher who hired me at UNC Pembroke and then moved on to University of Richmond in 1978 to become an assistant to Lou Goetz.

When Joe arrived at Richmond Kevin Eastman had just finished up his playing career at Richmond and was in his first year as an assistant college basketball coach.

Kevin has coached on all levels from Belmont Abbey to the NBA. He served as an assistant coach for the Boston Celtics for 8 seasons and won the NBA Championship in 2008.

Today Kevin is an author and much in demand public speaker. He can be found on Twitter @kevineastman and has a website called kevineastman.net

I recommend you consider following his twitter feed.

He has written a book called “Why the Best are the Best”

The book is not just a basketball book but a read to help anyone get better as a person.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
