As part of the 30-Day Curiosity Coach4aday Challenge in July, I’ve dedicated today’s focus on the mobile phone APP.

The mechanics of this challenge involve presenting a question and subsequently uncovering the optimal response.

July 29th Curiosity Question

What is the most downloaded phone APP?

A mobile phone app is a software application designed to run on smartphones and other mobile devices, offering specific functions or services to users.

Applications utilized on phones are constantly being rolled out. There are millions available for both the iPhone and Android. The Apple App Store had over 1.6 million apps in 2022, a decrease of around 18% or 363,045 apps from the previous year.

Google Play Store has 3.553 million mobile apps accessible for Android users to download.

Whatever type of mobile phone the sheer size of options is overwhelming. Which ones stand out?

July 28th Answer

This answer is going to be broken down in several ways.

TikTok is the most downloaded app in Google Play Store today, with 672 million total downloads. In June 2023 it was activated 1.13 million times. Google Play Store generated US $42.3 billion in revenue from apps and games in the year 2022.

Apple’s most downloaded application is TikTok, showcasing its immense popularity.

Here are the top 5 apps for both sites.

TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram. All of these are free.

For the record I only use one of the top 5. If you want to see a list of top-10 paid IPhone apps go to this link.

For my readers that are 55+ here is a link to 47 mobile apps that may be fun, helpful, or beneficial.

Suspecting exploring phone apps could be a future 30-Day Challenge.
